Dr. Jennifer Smith grew up in Pennsylvania. She graduated from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. She completed a Doctorate in Pharmacology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where she also completed her Medical degree. She did residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest followed by her Fellowship there. After completing her Fellowship and Maternal Fetal Medicine training, she stayed on as an Assistant Professor in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She has an extensive list of scientific publications from her time in academic medicine. She joined The Perinatal Center in January 2011. She has been instrumental in expanding the practice of Maternal -Fetal medicine at Integris Baptist Medical Center. She has a passion for the management of women with diabetes in pregnancy. She has a son who is active in numerous sports as well as a daughter who shows horses. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, camping, mountain biking, and gardening.
